I wasn't looking for a life-changer.
When Ellie was born, I became very aware of who was sick when we were out or when friends came over to visit. Like any new mom, I was a bit of a germaphobe but it truly felt like everyone and their mother was sick all of the time. I simply wanted better alternatives for keeping my baby WELL. Not just making her feel better if she were to get sick, but keeping her from getting sick in the first place.
When I found Young Living, everything changed. It took a couple months for me to open my starter kit because I was just paralyzed with fear of screwing up or not knowing what oil to use. But just a little bit of reading and support had me getting familiar with them in no time. These oils are incredible! They have become an integral part of our everyday lives. I use them to support my hormones, healthy skin, and to boost my mood/energy. We diffuse them to make the house smell wonderful and in our rooms at night to promote a restful night's sleep. The saying, "there's an oil for that" is so true! We turn to our oils to keep us happy, thriving, and WELL, and I have so much peace of mind about that.
Also, can I just say that I am so thankful to have a husband that is 100% onboard with this oily addiction? It took him a few months to come around–in the beginning I was just a "hippie"! But I decided to bring him along with me on this journey, sharing articles with him about the toxins that we had in our home and the effect they could have on us and Ellie. It was a no-brainer that he wanted the very best options for us, too.
Like I said, I wasn't looking for a life-changer. But I sure found one!
I cringe thinking back on when my Premium Starter Kit was delivered and I left it sitting there pretty on the shelf for months because I was overwhelmed. Are you worried that will be you, too?
Well, my mission is to not let that happen to anyone else.
Eli and I have become very passionate about this wellness journey and sharing our knowledge with anyone and everyone. It's not just about using essential oils. When people ask what our job is, I don't say I "sell" oils...because we don't! What we do is inspire others to think differently about their families–their health–and to share with them other options. Our "job" and ultimate goal is to empower you to become an advocate for your family's wellness. To help you create a lifestyle that allows you to thrive and live the way you were created to. To research with you and support you however we can so that you never feel overwhelmed on this journey. Oils are simply the fuel that allows us to do this.
Did you know that the average person applies 300 chemicals to their body each day?
And 80 of those are before breakfast! That's scary to think about, right? Especially if you have little ones at home, too.
So let's do a 5-minute exercise.
Ever heard of the EWG website? It's an awesome resource to become familiar with to research and look up specific ingredients found in the products and cosmetics you use. Now, go wherever you keep your cleaning supplies in your house and look up at least 3 ingredients on 5 of the products you currently use. Febreeze, Lysol, Clorox wipes, dish soap, and laundry detergent are a few examples.
What did your items rate? I'm going to guess that you were horrified to see the results, right? The first time I looked up my products, I ended up with three full trash bags and a very concerned husband, haha! Thankfully, we've been able to pitch all of the toxic cleaners, medications, and personal care items laden with toxic sludge. Thanks to Young Living, we've simplified while saving a lot of money. We use one completely natural cleaner throughout our entire house, and our essential oils to keep our moods up and immunity strong.
This is NOT meant to scare you...it’s to empower you!
The bottom line is that we are the greatest advocate for our family's health and wellbeing. It's time we take charge of our health and begin educating ourselves on the ingredients and toxic chemicals that we are slathering on our babies and ourselves. The oils WORK. And they are most definitely worth the research and reading to become familiar with them.
