What is CBD oil?

CBD stands for cannabidiol—one of the primary natural cannabinoids found in the industrial hemp plant.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that bind the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) receptors throughout your brain and body. There are over 113 known different cannabinoids found in hemp.

How does CBD work?

CBD primarily interacts with the Endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a regulatory system in the body that helps with brain functionality and helps to regulate the nervous, endocrine and immune systems. It assists with processes in the body such as appetite, pain, mood, memory, peripheral nervous system, and more. It works within these different systems stimulating the CB2 receptors which helps your body achieve homeostasis, or balance.

CBD vs THC

Many confuse CBD with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is also found in the cannabis plant, but the two are different. CBD is not psychoactive and does not cause the euphoric side effects commonly associated with THC. That means you can use CBD products without having to worry about THC causing any sort of reaction. CBD will not get you “high” as it contains 0% THC.

Are hemp and marijuana the same?

No. While both plants are in the same Cannabis plant family, hemp is completely different from marijuana in its function, cultivation, and application.
